Hello Neighbor,

I’m Joseph Maestas and I’ve had the honor of serving our country and my community for many years. I’m also honored to serve as your New Mexico State Auditor. The State Auditor is one of seven offices in the executive branch enabled by our State Constitution. As your State Auditor, my job is to oversee the management of public funds through annual financial compliance audits for every public entity in New Mexico. As your statewide financial watchdog, I also ensure your taxpayer money is spent appropriately through the examination of anonymous allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse as well as my authority to conduct special audits. My office also holds these public entities and their elected and appointed officials accountable to manage public funds in a transparent manner.

I take this responsibility seriously and am grateful for the trust you’ve put in me to do this work. Now, I’m asking for your support once again as I seek re-election to the Office of State Auditor (OSA).
